Domaine Petit Poucet is proudly the smallest estate in Alsace!
Gérard inherited the vineyard from his dad in the 90's. For years, he had a full time job next to his winemaking. He was working as an electrical engineer, but this year, in the summer of 2022, he can finally concentrate all of his time to his passion, which by the ways, he does all from the basement of his house. An defender of organic viticulture, for him good wine is made in the vineyard.
His plots of land are in Marlenheim, on clay-limestone soil, and in Wangen, on sandstone soil. The harvest is of course manual; the whole grapes are pressed and only indigenous yeasts are used. The wines benefit from maturing on fine lees; the estate avoids unnecessary racking and practises minimal sulphiting.
His wine are already amazing, can you imagine what he can do now he can spend all his time with the vines, great times are coming.
